Rep. Toureilles Takes Break, Reads The Onion

Everybody knows that surfing the Internet is the saving grace for worker bees in boring meetings when the boss is yammering on about meeting next month's sales targets.

And proving that state reps aren't that different from the rest of us, Rep. Yvonne Gonzalez Toureilles (D-Alice) was distracted while Rep. Eliot Naishtat (D-Austin) was speaking on the house floor. Like office drones in cubicles all across America, Toureilles was busy reading the Onion, laughing at the headline: "Arizona Man Steals Bush's Identity, Vetoes Bill, Meets With Mexican President."

Nor could she keep this from her neighbor, Rep. Roberto Alonzo (D-Dallas), who shared a chuckle with the freshman from Alice. As Naishtat forged ahead with his amendment, it looked like nothing could take Toureilles' eyes off that wonderful distraction called the Internet.
